This is a completed painting I began as a demo at Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington, MN. I have an exhibit on display there this summer and decided to work on a small painting during the Father's Day Brunch.

In order to get off to a quick start, I set up the still life at my home studio the day before and sketched in the objects with a focus on accuracy, placement etc. With two totes in hand, my french easel, palette, fruit, paints and high expectations I brought my studio with me to the hotel.

Setting up in front of the gift shop, I began working. Wrapping up day one I left with a sense of satisfaction at what had been accomplished. Unbeknownst to me, a crowd of onlookers were watching the painting unfold behind the gift shop window throughout the morning.

Keeping my word to one of the hotel patrons, I am posting this painting on my website.

Time to move on to the next one...
