Phoebe, during 2nd stage...

Here is an update of the Old Master Portrait I am painting with my class. We still have 10 classes during this fall session and all the students are doing a great job. I am using a different approach, one that I am not totally familiar with, but I am working hard to gain great understanding. The beauty I see represented during this era of Old Masters was not random. My desire is to learn what they knew and I am getting closer with every piece painted. It has been a challenge to attempt to teach a method that I am learning AS I TEACH. I don't enjoy feeling unprepared or unequipped, but in spite of the stress on several levels, I have even more resolve to experience a successful conclusion. I believe that this work will be expressive of the same beauty and reverence that has caught, and held, my attention.
