Portfolio of Works

Portraiture has always been my first love as an artist. In the early days of my training, I was exposed to beautiful craftsmanship and did not doubt that I, too, would be able to paint after the manner of my instructors by and by. I continue to grow and look for better ways to express this pleasure.

The images in this collection represent memorable moments captured in time. These paintings were enjoyable to create especially having the opportunity to impliment the most recent skills that I have learned about edges, values, temperature, and form. I am happy with the completed works and look forward to my next opportunity.

I was very excited to learn about still life painting as a student at the Atelier Studio of Fine Art. I find it an extremely valuable way to paint from life when the constraints of using models in figurative work are more challenging. I continually grow in this area and hope to tell many beautiful stories with my paint brush.

Daily paintings have inspired me to paint with greater spontanaity. It is a challenge for me to break the habitual method that I have painted with but I find that with the miniature paintings I am more likely to risk what I know as I continue to change and grow. There are so many artists whose work I have admired many who are steadily producing daily works. They are an inspiration to me to continue this means to develop style, purpose, and skill.
